With over 200 golf courses in Malaysia, coupled with her strong appeal as a travel destination, the country proves its suitability for such a prestigious and glamorous event.

The Vintage Golf Showcase 2014 is set to highlight the nation's abundant golf courses of international standard, positioning Malaysia as a golf haven within the region.


Steeped in history and tradition, Vintage Golf brings lovers of the game a unique way to enjoy the pleasure of playing golf using genuine antique golf clubs.

It also enables golf enthusiasts to fully appreciate the evolution and technological advances of the sport, from its beginnings in Scotland to mordern times.

It has the added advantage of collaborating with HSG, the leading specialists of historians and experts in genuine antique golfing equipment and artefacts, including valuation, verification and sourcing for their clients.

With aims to provide historical golfing experience through play and showcases, HSG has successfully organised Vintage Golf playing days across the world including China, Indonesia, South Korea and Japan for the British Royal Family, British Cabinet Ministers, and many Ryder Cup stars, among others.


Vintage Golf Showcase 2014 is organised by Vintage Golf Sdn Bhd (Vintage Golf) and fully supported by Historic Scottish Golf ( HSG ).

Vintage Golf is a local company pioneering of the concept of Vintage Golf in Malaysia, with the aim to place Malaysia as the preferred global golfing destination and paradise among golf enthusiasts worldwide.

The Vintage Golf Showcase will be held bi-annually, with the first maiden event to be held in May this year, and again in October to continue promoting Malaysia as a golf destination paradise.

A permanent Vintage Golf Museum is also being planned to be set up as an additional highlight and to attract more interest locally and worldwide. Plans are also being explored to organise an annual Open Vintage Golf competition in the future.


The Vintage Golf Showcase 2014 features an open competition over 18 holes:

  • 9 holes using genuine antique clubs provided by HSG & Vintage Golf
  • 9 using golfers' own clubs

A glamorous gala dinner will be held directly after the Showcase, and a financial contribution will be channelled to Hospis Malaysia, the 'Official Charity Beneficisry' of the first Showcase.

In the long term, the Showcase will attract international participants to promote Malaysia as the preferred golf tourist destination known for its golf courses, links and facilities of international standard.


The Vintage Golf Showcase, a prestigious sport, is set to generate increasing interest among various groups.

It encourages local corporate leaders to include Vintage Golf into corporate calendars and business activities, and local golf professionals to help enhance Malaysia's standing in professional golfing.
